JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Statistically, no one was better than Carson-Newman’s Nikki James (Cookeville, Tenn.) this season.
The Lady Eagles’ middle blocker finished the 2010 season as the national leader in blocks, topping NCAA Division II statistics with a 1.73 block per set average in leading the her squad in a second consecutive NCAA Tournament second round berth.

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. Carson-Newman middle blocker Nikki James (Cookeville, Tenn.) is the NCAA D-II leader in blocks per set in this weeks NCAA statistics.
James is averaging 1.74 blocks per set for the 10-3 (4-3 SAC) Lady Eagles. She is third nationally with 27 solo blocks, and had seven block in Tuesday nights win at Mars Hill, 3-2. For the year, she has 82 total blocks.

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - I want my players to leave this season with a very special feeling about their time together. 'Time together' is going to be a key ingredient in our success. We have fallen just short of the finish line for the past 2 years. Although we have had very successful seasons in the big picture of Carson-Newman volleyball, a first place finish is something our team will aim for.
