Morgan announces hiring of Strudwick to helm women’s golf program

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman athletic director Allen Morgan has announced the hiring of 23-year LPGA tour professional Suzanne Strudwick as Carson-Newman’s next women’s golf coach.

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – Carson-Newman’s Meridith Hawkins was one of only two players in the field of 50 to score below 80 in all three rounds of the Food Lions South Atlantic Conference Women’s Golf Championship.

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – Carson-Newman’s women’s golf team remained in fourth place through round two of the South Atlantic Conference Women’s Golf Tournament. However, the Eagles were just one of two teams with multiple golfers who had sub-80 rounds.

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The South Atlantic Conference tournament has been kind to Carson-Newman over the past four years. The Eagles own three of the top eight three-round totals at the league tournament and one year that is unranked (2011) C-N took home the title.

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – Carson-Newman hit more birdies – nine – than any other team in the field of 10 during the opening round of the Food Lions South Atlantic Conference Golf Championship en route to locking down the fourth spot after 18 holes of action.
