Carson-Newman women’s golf signs Amber Hardy for 2012-2013 season
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman Head Women's Golf Coach Mandy Moore announced Tuesday that Amber Hardy (Franklin, Tenn.) has signed to play for the Lady Eagles beginning in the fall of 2012.
Hardy, a standout at Independence High School in the Nashville area, comes to C-N after spending her high school career as a two-sport standout at Independence.
"I am very excited to have Amber join our team in the fall," Moore said Tuesday. "She is a quality young lady who will be a great asset to Carson-Newman and the women's golf team. I am looking forward to coaching her and watching her success on and off the golf course."
In golf, Hardy led her team to a district and regional title, finishing second in the Region Tournament. She was also a softball standout at IHS.
In the classroom, Hardy was named her school's top marketing student as a junior and a Delta Epsilon Chi (DECA) state finalist. She will join Carson-Newman's Honors Program when she enrolls in the fall.
The Lady Eagles spent much of the 2011-2012 season ranked in the nation's Top 20. They finished third at the 2012 South Atlantic Conference Championships and have won the SAC title twice the four years since the program's inception.
