Eagles Fall at Wingate, 8-1

WINGATE, N.C. - The Carson-Newman Eagles lost all three doubles matches en route to dropping their a South Atlantic Conference match at Wingate on Sunday, 8-1
The Bulldogs improve to 5-0 in league action, assuring the Wingate club will finish above .500 in SAC play. The Eagles are now 2-2 in SAC play.
At the No.3 doubles flight, the tandem of senior Jose Valarezo and freshman Matthew Lichtenstein paired up for 9-7 win, after trailing 6-3 to C-N's Adriano Kira and Trent Slagle.
Carson-Newman senior Giuseppe Schwarz earned the only point for the Eagles, winning in three-sets over Wingate freshman Bruno Pudence at the No. 1 singles.
Wingate sophomores Mitchell Lvovsky and Braeden Patchell won at No. 2 and No.3, respectively, to help clinch the Wingate victory.
C-N returns to action on Tuesday at home against Mars Hill at 2 p.m.
