Alley posts shutout as Eagles battle Mars Hill to 0-0 draw

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Lions' men's soccer team and SAC rival Carson-Newman College battled to a 0-0 draw Wednesday night in the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium. The Lions are now 9-4-1 overall and 5-2-1 in the SAC. The Eagles took their season record to 4-8-1 on the season and 3-4-1 in the league.

Carson-Newman outshot the Lions, 20-17 but the Lions had more shots on goal (9-6) than the Eagles. The visitors edged MHC in corner kicks, 5-3. Zac Scott played all 110 minutes in goal for MHC and made six saves. Michael Alley also played the entire match in goal for the Eagles and made 10 saves.

Mars Hill will host Lincoln Memorial University on October 27. Match time is slated for a 7:30 p.m. start.
