Eagles Third in First Regional Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS - The Carson-Newman Eagles are third in the NCAA Super Regional Two Rankings, released Monday afternoon.

Carson-Newman (4-2, 2-0 SAC) trails top-ranked North Alabama (6-0) and second-ranked Albany State (5-0), both of which are unbeaten.

The Eagles have faced four of the teams in the poll, beating No. 4 UNC Pembroke (35-22), No. 9 Newberry (23-20), and No. 10 Mars Hill (55-28), and falling at No. 1 North Alabama, 31-14.

C-N hosts Catawba (3-2) for homecoming on Saturday at 3 p.m. in Burke-Tarr Stadium.

The top six teams in the final regional poll advance to the 24-team NCAA Division II Playoffs.
