Big Orange Win Series 3-2 and Total Runs Scored for Series
Blue Chips win Game 7 in 8th inning on Joe Tipton's single. Big Orange wins series 3-2 and total runs scored title.
Joe Tipton's single to right field drove home Bryan Everhart with the winning run in the bottom of the 8th to give the Blue Chips a 8-7 victory. The Big Orange won the series 3-2 and the total runs scored for the five games 24-14.
Jackson Reid led off the 8th inning for the Big Orange with a single, advanced to third on a catchers throwing error. Evan Jurvevic singled him home with the go ahead run for the Big Orange and a 7-6 lead.
The Blue Chips answered back in the bottom of the inning. Kenneth Brown led off with a walk. After two quick outs, Bryan Everhart singled to left field. Zach Long singled to left field and pinch runner James Jinnett beat the throw home to tie the game. Next batter, Joe Tipton lined a single to right field and Everhart scored the winning run.
The Blue Chips almost won the game in the bottom of the 7th. Ben McKinney singled to left field, but Brandon Roberts relay throw from PJ Sardnia cut down Zach Long at the plate.
Ben McKinney picked up the win for the Blue Chips. Marc Ulloa took the loss but threw three scoreless innings in relief before the 8th inning.
With the double win, the Blue Chips team will be painting all the chain link fencing and outfield wall. They will also be spending a weekend on landscaping work around the baseball complex.
