Orange Juice Finish Off Bombers 6-3; Sweep Series and Runs Scored Title
Aaron Vargas and Jon Dalton take MVP honors, help the Juice win the Orange and Blue Series and overall runs scored title
Starting Juice pitcher Jackson Oster went 5 innings allowing only one run to help the Juice sweep the Bombers five games to zero. The Juice also won the overall runs scored for the series, 30-14.
Kyle Koeneman would give the Juice a 1-0 lead with a double in the first inning to drive in Aaron Vargas, who led off the game with a single. Vargas would single in Morgan Gregory in the second inning, to give the Juice a 2-1 advantage. Jon Dalton added a solo HR in the third and a 4-1 lead.
In the seventh, the Bombers would add two runs on a sacrifice fly by Trace Rogers and a two-out single by Evan Patterson that scored pinch runner Cody Nix. In the eighth inning, Juice added to their lead on a two-out double by Philip Duncan, scoring Kyle Koeneman.
The Bombers having lost both the series and runs scored title, must paint the
OF wall and all of the chain link fencing around the field. They also owe dinner to all members of the Juice team.
