Why did you choose CNC?
“I grew up in the area and was very familiar with the
program. I also felt like my family could see me more than going
away.
Most memorable moment as a player? “ Winning
3 games in one day at the conference tournament to get a bid to the
Regional tournament. “
What lessons have you learned from playing
baseball? “I have learned about mental toughness,
working hard, and pushing myself beyond any limits I set”
What is like playing with your brother (Zach Long is a
Sophomore infielder)? “Never had a chance to do it
in HS, so it is pretty special. I always wanted to do it and now I
have had a chance for 2 years to play with him”
How did red-shirting benefit you?
I learned a lot from watching the games my first year. I also
had a chance to work more on getting stronger and learning the
system that was in place. At the time I wasn’t too sure about
it, but looking back, it was very beneficial.”
What advice would you give to new players in the
program
“Buy into the system. Do what you are told and don’t
question it. Carry yourself with confidence and a little swagger.
You can’t be too timid or shy”
Future goals for you after CNC-
“Get into the business world, find a job that fits me”
