Reese Paces Eagles at Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational

NEWTON, N.C.—Senior Hannah Reese (Brandon, Miss) led the Carson-Newman women's cross country team to a fourth-place performance at the Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational Saturday morning.
Reese cut nearly 30 seconds off her time from the first meet of the season at the Eye Opener Invitational. She finished that race in 20:29, at Lenoir-Rhyne, she completed the course in 20:03.
While Reese finished tops among Carson-Newman runners, a convocation of Eagles finished within nine spots of one another. Meredith Nix (Walhalla, S.C.) came in 21st with a time of 21:35, while Amanda Bowman (Greeneville, Tenn.) placed 23rd with a time of 21:40. Stephanie Savino (Southland, N.Y.) was 25th with a time of 21:58, with Samantha McConeghey (Johnston, Iowa) and Megan Farjellah (Murphy, N.C.) finished 26th and 29th respectively with times of 22:06 and 22:20.
Meanwhile, Luke Hall (Seymour, Tenn.) led the way for the men's team. Hall finished 26th as the men's team placing 6th overall.
Hall cut 1:19 off his time from the Eye Opener with a 29:02 finish Saturday morning.
Angel Soriano (Weatherford, Tex.) finished 33rd with a time of 29:38 and Stephen Patton (Ooltewah, Tenn.) came in 43rd with a time of 30:22 to wrap up the Carson-Newman men's top three finishers.
Carson-Newman plays host to its home meet next weekend. The Carson-Newman Invitational is September 15th at Panther Creek State Park (Morristown, Tenn.).
